Cleanliness is taken seriously at Polished Hand and Foot Spa thus we go above and beyond what the State of California requires for nail salons. Our cleanliness and sanitation procedures are the highest standards that the industry has to offer.
Before each service, each of our nail pros wash and disinfect their hands. Each client is required to do the same. This simple and easy step helps prevent the spread of common germs.
During a manicure or pedicure treatment we have latex gloves available for our nail pros to wear if you would like them to. Just ask if this is your preference. This is not mandated by the state, but we feel this option further adds to the clean and healthy environment at Polished.
We further set ourselves apart from other local nail salons by ensuring
that every single stainless tool is scrubbed & cleaned with disinfectant soap & water and then totally immersed in an EPA registered disinfectant germicide solution. They are then rinsed, dried, and sealed in disposable pouches. These are not opened until your service.
We Use Only Brand New Nail Files, Birchwood Sticks, and File Abrasives for Each Pedicure Service. After one use we safely dispose of them.
For our Pedicures, we use only the Flowery award winning Swedish Clover Foot File System. The Swedish Clover System uses individually applied self adhesive, abrasive pads. Each client gets new abrasive pads that are thrown away after each use.

The California State Board of Barbering & Cosmetology has established laws and regulations which prohibit licensees from working on a person with an infection or communicable disease. It also prohibits them from massaging any person’s skin if it is inflamed or infected, or where an eruption is present. Thus, if a client has athlete’s foot, eczema, or other similar conditions, the manicurist must, by law, refuse the service in order to protect other customers.
We at Polished are aware that there are other salons that may perform services that we are sometimes forced to refuse. We implore you to please see a Medical Doctor before visiting these salons. You may have a medical condition which requires the attention that we as manicurists are not able to provide.
